You’re an Accountant — where to begin

You handle the money side only. This is the most focused role in EcommOS — you get full access to Cashflow and Remittance, and nothing else.

What you can do

  • Full access to Cashflow: record income and expenses, manage categories, view records.
  • Full access to Remittance: see what delivery agents still owe, mark orders as remitted.
  • Export finance records.

What you can’t do

  • No access to Orders or Customers — not even to view them. If you need order context for a transaction, ask a manager.
  • No Products, Inventory, Deliveries, or Staff access.

Where to begin

  1. Understand where your two screens sit. Cashflow is your day-to-day ledger — income, expenses, and what’s expected. Remittance is narrower: it’s specifically about cash that delivery agents are holding after collecting payment on delivery, until they hand it over.
  2. Know how the two connect. When an order gets marked remitted, EcommOS automatically creates an income record on Cashflow for it — you don’t record that one manually. You can still edit the ledger entry afterward if the figure needs correcting, without touching the underlying remittance record.
  3. Set up your categories. Cashflow expense and income categories are yours to define — Delivery cost, Packaging, Ads, Staff pay, whatever matches how you actually track spend.
  4. Chase what’s owed. The Remittance page groups outstanding amounts by delivery agent, with how long each has been pending, so you know who to follow up with first.

What good looks like

Every delivered order gets remitted and reconciled without a backlog building up. Cashflow records are categorized consistently enough that the Income/Expense/Net income numbers actually mean something at a glance.
