Add your first product

A product is the foundation of every order. Forms, offers, stock, and order routing all hang off the product record.

Create the product

  1. Go to Products.
  2. Click Add product.
  3. Choose Single (a normal product) — if you want to bundle several products into one deal, see Bundle products with combos instead.
  4. Enter:
    • Product name (unique per org)
    • Default price
    • Optional description
  5. Save.
EcommOS generates a short code for the product automatically. The short code is unique per org and is used in order numbering.

Add an offer

An offer is what the customer actually picks on a form — the price and quantity choice. A product can have several.
  1. Open the product.
  2. Add an offer with:
    • Customer-facing label (for example, “1 unit”, “Bulk pack”, “Buy 2 get 1”)
    • Amount and currency
    • Default quantity
    • Sort order
    • Active/inactive state
  3. Save.
Keep your first offer simple. Add more after your first live order so you can learn what customers actually pick.

(Optional) Add inventory components

Offers can map to one or more inventory products and quantities. This lets the commercial offer differ from the physical stock that gets decremented on delivery. Example: you sell a “Starter Bundle” offer that consumes 2 units of Product A and 1 unit of Product B from stock when delivered. For your first product, skip this. Come back when you start bundling.

Add opening stock

If you already have units on hand, receive stock into your store location:
  1. Open Inventory.
  2. Receive stock into your store.
  3. Confirm the movement is recorded.
Stock can later be transferred to delivery agents through waybills. See Manage stock and waybills.

Verify

You should now have:
  • At least 1 product
  • At least 1 active offer
  • Optional opening stock at your store
