# Configure business settings

**Business** holds your store's identity and locale. It's a small page on purpose — most of what merchants need to configure day to day lives closer to the feature it affects (staff roles under Staff, order statuses under Settings → Orders, and so on).

## What's on the Business page

* **Identity** — business name, display name, category, and description.
* **Locale** — country, currency, and timezone.

Choosing a country auto-fills a sensible currency and timezone for it, so you don't have to set all three by hand.

Only your business name, country, currency, and timezone are saved here today — treat other fields on this page as a work in progress rather than settings you can rely on yet.

## Order settings

Under **Settings → Orders** you can add [custom order statuses](/docs/operations/custom-order-statuses) to organize your queue beyond the fixed lifecycle statuses.

## One workspace, one business

EcommOS doesn't have a multi-store concept today — your workspace is your business. If you run more than one business, each needs its own EcommOS account and workspace.

## What's next

* [Set up custom order statuses](/docs/operations/custom-order-statuses)
* [Add staff and set roles](/docs/operations/staff-onboarding)
